A peptide research protocol begins by defining the hypothesis and the biological pathway under study. The choice of compound depends on its affinity for the target receptor and on previously published literature.

The next step is material characterization: certificate of analysis, HPLC purity, identity by mass spectrometry and documented storage conditions. Without these data, results are not reproducible.

Reconstitution is performed with bacteriostatic water or compatible solvents, recording final concentration, volume and date. Stability after reconstitution is limited and must be controlled by refrigeration.

Finally, every experiment should record lot, conditions and deviations. Complete traceability is what separates usable data from an anecdotal observation.
